Background
I grew up in a family owned interior design firm which heavily influenced what I do today. My first job was to organize and clean the fabric library; it was such a valuable experience learning the different types of fabric and how to pair prints to bring a scheme together. This is where I fell in love with fabric. What I enjoy most about surface/textile/print design is the unlimited applications. One is not limited to one industry but rather open to any type of printable surface, space, object or garment. It is always interesting!
My first position out of college was assisting senior designers at the JC Penny Corporate office. From there I went back to the family owned design business to sharpen my design chops. I then helped create a non-profit eco start-up in Santa Fe and then found myself back in Dallas landing my first textile design position working for Sharon Young, Inc. After a couple of years of womenswear experience, I started working for the second largest scrub company in the US focusing on building up their print lines and most significantly creating the line, Zoe + Chloe. I worked remotely while living in France for a couple of years and then branched out along with the Sr. VP and we partnered to create our own line, Tasha + Me, backed by a womenswear company off 5th ave in NY, NY. I learned so many incredible lessons from creating our own line from scratch- what a wild fun ride it was. I now reside in the bay area, California and am loving all the beauty here!
